David Junkin has a unique aesthetic and sensibility that quickly gets to the core of his subject matter.
Unafraid to tackle any topic from the pope to pop culture, Dave doesn’t approach a subject – he attacks it, deconstructs it, stretches it, turns it inside out. It’s this kind of raw energy that has been evident throughout David’s entire career both as an award-winning art director and illustrator. David’s illustrations are the sum total of a wide range of media such as acrylics, pencil, charcoal, a whole lot of odds and ends, and a few other digital tricks up his sleeve.
David’s most recent award was at the 2009 LUX competition in Montreal. Among his major influences David counts Picasso, Haring, Warhol, DeKooning, Pouf & Chico (his dogs).
